Waigo Splash Hotel in Sorong, Indonesia
Review of Waigo Splash Hotel, Sorong, capital of South West Papua Province, Indonesia.
After staying in Raja Ampat, we travelled by ferry from Waisai to Sorong.
This hotel is located on the coast in Sorong, about 2 km from the landing stage where the ferry from Waisai arrives.
In fact, we stayed here once before in 2023, and our impression of the hotel was not bad, so we decided to visit again.
There are windowless and windowed rooms, and the windowless rooms are cheaper. We saw a windowless room, but it smelled musty, so we did not take that room.
A twin room with window, Rp 400,000 per night with breakfast, was bargained down to Rp 350,000 per night.
Breakfast is a buffet and it starts at 7am.
Room at Waigo Splash Hotel
Rooms are clean enough.
Beds have slightly firmer mattresses.
A TV, closet, hangers, electric kettle, cups and saucers, coffee and tea bags and bottled drinking water were provided.
The air conditioning worked well, but it isalways best to try them out when deciding on a room.
The room was on the second floor but the view from the window was not so good.
There are electrical sockets by the beds.
Bathroom at Waigo Splash Hotel, Waigo
The showers take a few minutes to get hot water, but once hot, the water is very hot.
Water pressure is good in both showers and sinks.
Toilet paper, soap and toothpaste were provided. No shampoo.
Bath towels were provided as was a foot mat.
Wifi at Waigo Splash Hotel
Wifi was well connected in the corridors, but hardly functional in the rooms.
Rooftop Cafe of Waigo Splash Hotel
The hotel has a rooftop space where you can watch the sunset.
However, it does not appear to function as a café or restaurant. It would be a nice space if it were renovated properly, which is a shame.
Breakfast at Waigo Splash Hotel
Breakfast is included in the room rate and is apparently a buffet, but we had to check out before 7am, when breakfast started, as we had an early flight to catch.
When we checked in, we negotiated for a takeaway breakfast to be available at 6am the next morning, but it was not ready when we checked out the next morning and we left the hotel without breakfast.
