Hotel Pelangi in Jayapura, Indonesia

We stayed in this hotel for one night in Jayapura whilst in transit from Manokwari to Biak. 


It's located just 300 meters away from the airport.


Rooms at Hotel Pelangi

We stayed in a double room with air conditioning and bathroom. No breakfast, 300,000 rupiah per night. 

Bathroom was en suite, but there was no shower or bathtub; Mandi and Asian toilet only. 

Rooms with shared bathroom are offered at cheaper prices. 

The room was very clean and well arranged. TV, extension cord, towel rack, mirror, table, chair, soap, bath towel and slippers are provided. There was no toilet paper. 

There is no drinking water, but there are shops next to or near the hotel where you can buy them. Tea and coffee can be purchased at the front desk.

A/C worked very well.


Bathrooms at Hotel Pelangi

They have no Western-style toilets, showers and bathtubs. There is a Mandi (bucket-style bathing) and an Asian toilet. Hot water is not available in the bathroom. 

Our room bathroom was newly painted and very clean. The water in the Mandi was also clear and clean. Even the plastic bucket for Mandy was brand new and beautiful.



WiFi at Hotel Pelangi 

Free WiFi is provided at the frontdest and in rooms of the Hotel Pelangi hotel. Wifi is well connected and very fast.


Service at Hotel Pelangi

The owner is very friendly and speaks good English. The airport is 300 meters away, but offers a free shuttle service. 

The front desk is open from 5am to 11pm. Please be careful as it will be locked at 11 pm.


Hotel Pelangi Hotels and Surroundings 

At the front entrance of the hotel there is a shared smoking area. There is also a smoking area on the second floor, but smoking in the room is prohibited.

It was easy to get shared taxis on the main road to Jayapura city from Jl. Raya Kamiri where there are lots of shops and restaurants as well.

Delvin Homestay Review, Raja Ampat, Indonesia

Delvin Homestay is on Kri island, Raja Ampat, Indonesia. We stayed in this homestay twice in 2023 for more than 7 days each time. It is a simple accommodation, but we think it is the most affordable on Kri Island and Dani the owner is an honest person charging fair prices for everything. The hotel was used as accommodation for connecting flights at Jakarta Airport. Rp 541 000 per night for a twin room with breakfast. Booked through Booking.com. Room at Orchards Hotel Bandara We stayed in room 811, a twin room. The room is large enough and clean. The bed was a little small, but a normal single size, we think. There is a desk, TV, chair and tea set. The electric kettle was in poor condition, perhaps broken, but it worked for a time. Two bottles of drinking water. Black tea and coffee, cream and sugar.
